Crispin has a successful 20 year track record as financial markets professional. He is passionate about delivering innovative, sustainable financial solutions to clients. Crispin has a proven track record in building, managing and working with diverse teams to deliver strategic business objectives. He is able to develop strong client trust relationships in order to promote sustainable partnerships in delivering value to stakeholders. Crispin started his Financial markets career at KPMG as manager of the Treasury Audit Group in South Africa. Crispin joined UBS in 2000 as an equity derivatives structuring expert. His key responsibilities were to develop innovative equity derivatives structures and perform the function of equity derivatives sales and research for an institutional client base being awarded an individual derivatives analyst rating by the Financial Mail in 2005. Post UBS he joined Deutsche Securities taking on the role as Vice President of Equity Derivatives Sales and Structuring. During his time at Deutsche his team was rated as the number one equity derivatives banking team in South Africa in the Financial Mail rankings. In 2009 Crispin joined Nedbank Capital’s Equity Derivatives and Prime Broking business as the Head of Sales and Trading. Here Crispin was instrumental in the rebuilding of the Nedbank business. The Nedbank businesses started with a modest combined equity hedge book of less than R0.5bn. During Crispin’s involvement as head of trading, the hedge books grew over the subsequent four years to its peak of over R14bn in 2012. The equity hedge books were matched in quantum by an Interest Rate book to support the Equity Derivatives business. During this period Revenue growth was in excess of 25%, Over the past decade Crispin was part of the senior management that received the following awards: JSE onscreen pioneer for SAFEX Options (Team award at Nedbank); JSE warrants and structured products highest market capital of new listings award (Team award at Nedbank); Sunguard Brave New World Award for market trading platform innovation (Team award at Nedbank). In 2014 Crispin Joined the Phoenix Group of companies and Garuda Capital in 2015, where he is involved in deal origination, Corporate and tax advisory and Capital raising. Crispin lead the team at Phoenix that was responsible for the due diligence and tax advisory on SA Corporate Real estate Funds acquisition of a 50% shareholding in 3 Zambian properties valued at over R1.5 billion. Crispin is a JSE Senior Derivatives dealer and serves as a member of the Derivatives Advisory Committee of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). He is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) and completed a B.Com (Honours) and M.Com (Tax).
